Controls, wave mechanics, and the star economy explained.
STAR VOYAGE is a wave-based space shooter roguelite that runs entirely in your browser. You pilot a crystal warship against endless waves of void creatures. There is no download, no account, and no installation — the game starts the moment the page loads.
| Action | Desktop | Mobile |
|---|---|---|
| Move ship | Click and drag with the mouse | Drag anywhere on screen |
| Fire weapons | Automatic — your ship fires on its own | |
| Ultimate | Tap the ULTIMATE button when the bar is full | |
| Pause | Pause button in the top corner, or Esc | |
Each run is divided into numbered waves. Every wave has a target kill count and a time limit. Clear the required number of enemies before the timer runs out and you advance; the faster you clear, the higher your wave rating.
Enemies drop stars when destroyed. Between waves the shop opens, and stars are the only currency you spend there.
Rating is based on how quickly you reach the kill target. Clearing early in the wave window scores higher than scraping through at the last second. Higher ratings mean better shop offers and stronger bonus rewards.
Every tenth wave is a boss encounter. Bosses have multiple attack patterns and substantially more health than regular waves. They telegraph their attacks before striking, so watch for the warning wind-up and reposition before the hit lands.
Stars are earned inside a run and spent inside the same run. There are two separate economies, and mixing them up is the most common beginner mistake:
After each wave you get a shop offering. Options include weapon upgrades, passive items, healing, and contracts.
The ULTIMATE bar fills as you deal damage. When full, tapping the button fires a screen-clearing attack. Each pilot has a different ultimate — some deal area damage, some heal, some change the flow of the battle entirely. You can hold a full bar rather than firing it immediately; saving it for a boss wave is usually correct.
The game ships with 20 playable pilots. A few are available from the start; the rest unlock through accumulated kills, meta currency, or daily challenge rewards. Every pilot has distinct base stats, an attack style, a passive ability, and a unique ultimate, so the game plays differently depending on who you pick.
Your run ends when your ship's HP reaches zero. You can continue the run once by watching a rewarded video, which restores your ship, grants a shield, and gives a few seconds of invulnerability. After that, the run is over and your score is submitted to the leaderboard.
